Why your social media keeps stopping every few weeks
If your social media tends to go like this:
Post consistently for a week or two… Things get busy… Then suddenly it’s been three weeks since you last posted…
You’re not alone.
I see this all the time with libraries, charities, and small teams.
And it’s not because people don’t care. It’s usually because there’s no system holding it all together.
It’s not a motivation problem
Most teams start with good intentions.
You’ve got ideas. You know it’s important. You want to show up consistently.
But if your content relies on:
finding time
feeling inspired
remembering to post
…it will always stop when things get busy.
What’s actually happening
Social media is sitting just outside your core responsibilities.
It’s something you:
get to after everything else
squeeze in between meetings
or pick up when you have a spare moment
Which means it’s the first thing to drop.
What makes it sustainable
The teams who stay consistent aren’t more creative or more disciplined.
They have:
a simple content plan
clear roles
a small set of repeatable post types
They’ve taken it out of the “I’ll get to it” category and turned it into something structured.
A small shift to try
Instead of asking:
“What should we post today?”
Try:
“What are our 3–4 key messages this month?”
Then repeat them in different ways. That one shift removes a huge amount of pressure.
The takeaway
Consistency doesn’t come from trying harder.
It comes from having a system that still works when you’re busy.
If your social media keeps stopping, it’s not a failure.
It’s just a sign that you need something more sustainable behind it.
And that’s something you can absolutely fix (my Team Training service is just the thing!)
